A 3300 XL proximity measurement is not selected by the probe alone. The system is built from matched components that work together.
1. Proximity Probe
The probe is installed near the target surface and forms the sensing end of the system. Probe ordering numbers can include options for physical construction and lead length.
2. Extension Cable
The extension cable connects the probe lead to the Proximitor sensor. The cable is part of the electrical system length, so it should not be chosen only because the connector fits.
3. Proximitor Sensor
The Proximitor sensor provides the conditioning electronics for the matched proximity system. The correct sensor family and system length must be verified with the probe and extension cable.
Why System Length Matters
Manufacturer ordering information treats the probe, cable, and sensor as a system. Mixing lengths or incompatible families can change system behavior.
Practical Ordering Check
When replacing one component, record all three model numbers when possible. This provides a stronger basis for identifying the correct replacement than a probe number by itself.
